Councillor will run Conwy Half-Marathon for Eisteddfod visit

A Conwy County Councillor is preparing to run his first half-marathon next week.

Aaron Wynne, who represents Llanrwst on Conwy Council, will be taking part in the 13-mile race to fundraise for the visit of the National Eisteddfod of Wales to Conwy County in 2019, located in Llanrwst.

Cllr Aaron Wynne said; “I will be taking part in this year’s Conwy Half-Marathon to fundraise for the visit of the National Eisteddfod to my hometown, Llanrwst, in 2019.

“This is my first time running a half-marathon, but after months of training, I’m hoping to complete the race in a respectful time.

“The race, which takes place annually, begins in Conwy and makes its way to Llandudno and around The Great Orme, before returning to Conwy Castle. 13 miles all in all.

“Numerous fundraising campaigns and committees across Conwy are working tirelessly to ensure that the County reaches its ambitious target of £320,000, and I wanted to do my bit to ensure we hit that target.

“The Eisteddfod is one of the world’s greatest cultural festivals, and brings together people from all ages and backgrounds to enjoy an eclectic mix of music, literature, dance, theatre, visual arts and much more.”
